Recognized as a master of still-life painting. He lives in Taos, New Mexico where Native Americans provide him with many subjects, including drums, pottery, blankets and other cultural objects. He has won numerous awards, the Prix de West for "Flapjacks" and the Master of the American West for "Spirits, Symbols and Ceremonies" and recently was featured in an exhibition at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
